We are about to knock at House of Joy's door, Puchong! YCH Logistic, Mr.Loo (middle) and his team and Kelab Autoshow committee, (left, Soohun, Sengteck, Huckseng, Annette, Mr,Mrs Ayub, Mizi, Sheen, Kurt (Photographer), Ai-Vern (Photographer) 

We started Convoy of LOVE right after Mee Siam breakfast by Mizi at Kelab Autoshow. The team is bigger this time, we have YCH Logistic Team, Chung Wen Ne and Ai-Vern with us. House of Joy is filled up - with us. Our total team members exceeded the number of  kids there. Hope they are not frightened. Indeed, most or the kids are still in school, those with us that morning are those in the afternoon session.

"This is how I finish my soup..." House of Joy kids were having lunch. See her oversize shirt...

For the first time, I get to see what and how they eat their meal. They were happily having their early lunch before school. When we distribute the Munchy's Captain Munch, I noticed the kids just keep them inside their school bag. I asked why they were not eating it righaway. The little girls with a pair of glasses answered, " we keep it for recess time." I have no more question suddenly.

Not all kids are lucky to have pocket money to school.

"Not all the boys left here and do well in their career. Some just turned bad...with the temptation to be trendy and keep up with the contemporary youngsters, some insecure and naïve boys from the Home might fell to the trap set by the societal evils easily." "About 20% of them are not doing so well...One even come back to show us his latest fashion sense and talked loudly on his sleek handphone. But we understand they were just insecure at heart..." "Some came back and really unrecognizable by us...he told us his funny childhood story all over again when he was here with us. Then we only remembered who was this grown up man...ha ha..." The kind Miss Lesley just laughed over it.

Sorry to Miss Lesley for my bullet shooting questions. I just curious how the boys and girls have adapted to the today’s society after they left the home. I also hope they will come back to do their bit by helping their new “brothers and sisters” in the home.

The Pure Life Society kids are much happier. They do not have 'Slow learning' kids here like House of Joy. All of them are healthy kids. Majority of the kids is Indian except for the one in picture with me, who is a Chinese boy. Pure Life society is 50 years old, one of the biggest home in the city.

The 4 1/2 hours long Convoy of Love4 ended with a late lunch at Kelab Autoshow ft. Mizi Dried Chili Chicken and my Ham Choi soup. Yum!

Kelab Autoshow Convoy of Love ft. House of Joy CNY  27.02.2010

While our kids put on their new shirts, new shoes, and pockets filled with small and big angpows , other kids may not be so lucky to get a chance to do so, not even to have a reunion dinner with their parents. Even though I gave angpow to them, they will not get a chance to buy ice-cream or KFC drumstick. They will give back their Sister Leslie, they know the angpow money is to keep for their brothers' and sisters' school books.

As every year, we picked a home to celebrate CNY with Kelab autoshow. We picked this House of Joy with a purpose. We do not want to visit some famous home with thick cover brochures, wide coverage and CD Rom as home profile. We want to celebrate with less-famous, less-invited home and poorer homes. Hopefully when we publish their home's story in our forum and my facebook, they will be invited by others. I also hope other car clubs will invite them for their activity in future, not necessarily only during CNY, Raya or Christmas. 

Hats off to House of Joy, Sister Leslie Mah, she spends her entire life to take care the home kids here. No dating, no marriage, no salary, no shopping...just kids. She can't be bothered if she has added a few white hairs or wrinkles on her face. The unwanted baby in her arms just a year old.

 Well,when you have to carry heavy Munchy's biscuit, you have another hand to carry location map (your mouth)

 We brought along Munchy's Oat Krunch, 100 plus, stationary and toys to cheer them up. The small house has 43 kids inside, just wonder how they sleep at night?

This is how to sleep together at night. Maybe it is fun to sleep together. They will all go separate ways, anyway. Some will leave after 16 years old, some may not stay that long..I really hope the eldest boys and girls, who have already started a better life, will come back to help the home that he/she had grown up with.'"Not all grown up good, some turned up bad." Sister Leslie said with a heavy tone.

I'm not really worried about the kids here if they got support from corporate donors and community constantly. These kids are special kids; they are stronger than my kids. Kids growing up in environment like shelter homes, they have stronger surviving skills to withstand difficulties. If he falls, he will stand up faster than normal kids. Of course, some will grow up well when they turn teenagers, they might drown swallowing these tough waves that they face along the way. If they did, they will be more successful then normal kids. I deeply wish all these special kids i met that morning will turn up well,  more importantly they found love and happiness.

Brothers, sisters, you can do your bit by just buying their Wholemeal home-baked bun. Only Rm5. By doing so, the boys and girls will get to eat a better breakfast, rather than just 'light' Milo.
